Neil’s comedy career started in double-act Hitchcock’s Half Hour, who – alongside Tom Hillenbrand – won the 1998 Hackney Empire New Act Of The Year Award (in a final that included Catherine Tate and Daniel Kitson). That year, their debut Edinburgh show at the Pleasance – Psycho Vertigo Disco – coincided with the first appearance of The Mighty Boosh… cue plenty of column inches about “the year of the surreal double-act.” Neil and Tom continued to work together until 2000, supporting Harry Hill on tour and Ennio Marchetto at the Lyric, Hammersmith.

Several years fter the double-act split, Neil embarked on a solo stand-up journey. His 2011 Edinburgh Fringe show – Neil By Mouth – played to sell-out audiences and got favourable reviews. Neil became a festival regular including Camp Bestival, Download & T in the Park. Popular guest on specialist comedy shows like Set List and The Pun Run. Compere for music & corporate events at various venues, including the Royal Albert Hall & The London Motor Show. He also worked as part of cult sketch team Pros From Dover and is an improviser, core cast member of Slattery Night Fever.
